It is not uncommon for a webmaster to not submit their website to search engines. This is because most webmasters do not think about the fact that the search engines really make sense, as long as you do not mind paying a monthly fee for the privilege of submission.
The search engines are already there for us, so why not pay to submit your website to them? Why do we have to pay an arm and a leg for it? It is just a matter of perspective.
